Schönheit liegt immer im Auge des Betrachters, aber ich finde in einfach Klasse.

Great writer!
I must be frank that when the Hongdian CA35 came out, I didn’t know what to make of it. I thought to myself, here is another metal pen that resembles pens that we have seen already. But was I wrong. Packaging & Accessories: 8/10 Well-made packaging with a metallic box and a foam sleeve inside to protect the pen. The pen comes with a converter. Aesthetics & Quality 10/10 The pen is a nicely cigar-shaped pen with a nice size and heft to it. From the top, the cap shows a transparent plastic dome with sparkles over it and a blue colored inside: a starry sky dome (nice touch). The cap is engraved with space/cosmic related scribbles and mathematical formulas. It shows great attention to details from Hongdian the way this engraving was done. The clip is arrow shaped, vaguely recalling a Parker clip. The clip is stiff, having a rounded edge, it is usable to pin the pen to a shirt pocket or a note pad. The body tapers down and it is, from what I can tell, metal lacquered in a nice blue. At the end of the body there is a chrome finial resembling some of the finials on a MB146. Aesthetically, all is very pleasing and traditional. Uncapping the pen, a number 6 nib is revealed (it uncaps with one rotation). The nib unit unscrews for cleaning or replacement. The nib shows concentric circles scribbling, with “Hondgian” right under it and some additional engraving that looks like a stylized rocket. The section is metal, and it show more nice engraving similar to the cap but with pictures of a bear, stars and other characters. The section is long enough to hold the pen comfortably without touching the cap threads, which are not sharp at all. Unscrewing the body reveals the upscale Hongdian converter that we have seen on other models such as the N11. The converter has a reinforced nipple and a little plastic ball to break ink tension and ensure easy flow. Nib and writing quality 10/10 As mentioned, the nib is a number 6 that can be unscrewed for maintenance or replacement with other number 6 nibs. The feed is plastic and a little different from what seen on other Hongdians. The nib is very smooth and wet: it writes buttery smooth with little to no feedback. It is also bouncy but not flexible (although you can squeeze some line variation, but be careful). Reverse writing, although drier and scratchy, but it is very doable. Please refer to the writing sample. Writing with this pen is a pleasure and definitely a daily carry. I purchased a fine and the other choice would be an extra fine. To me the fine is just perfection! Weight and Dimensions: 9/10 The pen has some heft due to its meta construction, but it is not that heavy and the section, maybe due to the engraving, is not slippery. The experience that this a pleasant writer and a very good writer with this wonderful nib Cost & Value: 9/10 I think the price is fair for what you get, or a very carefully designed fountain pen with quality materials and a wonderful smooth wet nib. Conclusion: (46/50) Would this a “go to” pen? In my mind, I have no doubt that this is an excellent pen that can bring writing enjoyment for a very long time

Cool and functional pen!
This a cool fountain pen. If your into space, and want to elevate your writing style this is a fantastic pen. The weight is well balanced and the nib writes beautifully with no leaks. Just be sure to always flush out the nib with some cool water, and let dry before filling with ink.

Great pen! High end pen without the high end price tag.
I love this pen! I literally received it just a few minutes ago and had to open it up right away. Wow! It’s beautiful and feels good in the hand. I used some Hongdian ink I purchased to use specifically with this pen. Writing with it is so smooth. The nib is great, not scratchy at all. And you can definitely get some thick’s and thins with minimal pressure. If you are looking for a new fountain pen and want something that looks high end but doesn’t have the high end price, this is it!

Cap cracked within a few months, company refuses to replace
The plastic at the top of the cap cracked within a few months. I contacted the company via both email and Amazon, but they either ignored me or refused to replace it.
