Great Train to Get on Sale!
I got this on after Christmas sale a while ago... it was extremely cheap... It has brought a lot of joy to Christmas with the kids excited to bring it out every year. It takes a lot of batteries, but features are very fun - it has lights, a horn, can go forward and backwards and supposed to have steam, but I was never able to figure out how to get that to work even though we followed the instructions and put water in the train. I think having a train around the tree is a fun addition - totally would recommend it for fun family memories.

Great core memories watching my kids play with it for hours
My kids love this train set they will sit there and watch it go around for hours. We bought it for Christmas but sometimes we bring it out even not during Christmas. It keeps my little ones so entertained 2 and 3 year olds entertained for hours and last year a 2 and 1 year old. The only thing I don’t like is how obnoxious the remote beeps when you turn just the train off.. sometimes we have to turn the train off if one of the littles knocks it off the tract and we need to re-hook it up but aside from that all the bells and whistles and toot toots are awesome and add more excitement. Great quality build the plastic material is pretty durable as it holds up well to my experience toddlers and it looks beautiful. I love it

Fantastic toy and at a great price!
I was in the market for a train set for my grandson of 2 1/2 years. He is a "hands on" kid who loves to help his toys entertain and understand how they work. I wanted a good train set at a reasonable price and I could not have come up with anything better this. On time delivery, good protective packaging, easy to understand and accompanying visual pics of assembly. I was worried about the remote because he loves to run things to the hilt, but I didn't need to worry. After about an hour he had all the bells and whistles (literally) under control and has had hours of enjoyment. Easy track to set up and take down if room is a problem. Plan to use it under my Christmas tree this year. Looks great, works great and can handle the inquisitive and busy child. I cannot recommend this enough and to top it off the price is so reasonable and the quality is excellent. Thanks to the Amazon Basic choices.

A nice budget train for around the tree or for beginners.
This is a nice little remote-control train that does what's advertised and not much else, but that is a good thing. The train is rather large for the price and appears to run on g-scale track. The remote is simple to use and offers two speeds for both forwards and reverse. A variety of decent quality sounds can also be played via the remote and a chugging sound plays while the train is in motion. Thankfully there is also a mute button, which turns off all sounds. The train comes with a coal car and two rolling stock that are of acceptable quality. It also comes with enough track to go around a Christmas tree and that's about it. Combine that with the fact that the passenger car is red and green and it is obvious the intended use for this set. It does what it says well enough. There are really only a few drawbacks. As a train running on unpowered track, it'll require 8 AAs for the engine and two for the remote for a total of 10. If this will be run for any amount of time rechargeable batteries would be a good investment. Also, the couplers aren't kid friendly and don't latch together when cars are pushed together like more expensive sets do. You'll have to raise up one car and slide one coupler over and inside the other. Parents will need to do this for younger kids. Something that isn't a big deal but is rather annoying is the rather loud alarm sound the train makes when it can't find the remote or loses contact with it. Always turn the remote on first and off last to avoid it. For under $20 this is a killer deal. Over that and you'd be paying too much.

Dissatisfied
Does not run to speed consistently. Tried two sets of new batteries. Same problem.

Christmas and Train Sets... they just go together.
Was a gift for a grandson...but suspect that Dad enjoyed it more as he was setting it up around the Christmas tree last year. Not sure he let the grandson play with it much...yet. :-) Very nice though. Quite happy with my purchase.
