Very nice doll well presented
This doll is beautiful. Her auburn hair is soft and plentiful, green eyes and she is dressed in a current style. The doll was placed in a very nice outside box with paper folded over such as you find with quality merchandise, (rather than a clear plastic cap). I did not remove her from the box to see how easily her limbs moved as she will be a birthday gift for my granddaughter. My granddaughter will love her.

Beautiful face. Adorable!
Update 12/26/23You can read on but Sam (now Jasmine) is an adorable big hit and nice contrast to Madison, the AG doll. Original review: My granddaughter only has one 18 inch doll. A custom AG doll, Madison; she is beautiful. It's nice to have a second doll but AG is so expensive, so I I bought Sam and brown haired Emma to compare. Coming out of the box, Sam has the most beautiful eyes that begged me to pick her; I am not a doll-loving-fanatic, but Sam captured my heart. I left her in the box to look at Emma. Emma's outfit was prettier, but her brown eyes were not mesmerizing like Sam's. My doll research brought up the point of a soft cloth breast plate (decolettage area) on the AGs, which limits their clothing selection to high neck options. The Amazings have a hard plastic chest molded to coordinate better with neck/face/limbs; she will have more fashion options than AGs. I untied Emma to take a closer look. The hair rooting on a hard plastic scalp is sparse and horrifying. It was ghastly and I recoiled. Now I didn't know what to do about Christmas. I checked Sam's head without actually removing her from the box and she has the same bad hair composition. I thought that I would send them both back. After a while, the idea of two totally different dolls, each with their own individual beauty and flaws, might be a healthy situation. I think I will present Sam as a gift, but we will talk about bad hair. Some people just have bad hair and no one is perfect! Sam can wear more styles of clothing. I did look at the AG of the year. She is really cute too. She has phenomenal hair, but still with the fabric material below the neck and more than twice as much money. I think Sam's face is remarkably beautiful and I hope my granddaughter can see beyond the hair. As to whether the Amazing Girl can sit or stand on her own remains to be discovered on Christmas. If Sam can't position herself to play with Madison, the AG doll, then beautiful Sam will be going back.

Best 18” doll I’ve ever owned!
Let me start off by saying that I am an adult collector, so I do not purchase dolls for their play value, but rather their appearance and quality. Aside from 18” dolls (of which I collect American Girl, Gotz, Via E, Journey Girls, Our Generation, and so many others), I also collect high end fashion dolls like Fashion Royalty, play dolls like Barbie, Vinyl dolls like Smart Doll and Dollfie Dreams, and also action figures like Marvel Legends and MOTUC. So, I’m very well versed on the subject of toys and collectibles. So, when I came across the Amazing Girls, I thought they were overpriced 18” dolls of the quality of Our Generation. So, I passed on them. But Jada and Zoe haunted me for a year. I just loved their faces. Then, in December, I came across Sam. I’m a sucker for dolls with ginger hair, and I couldn’t resist. I bought her at full price. Then she arrived. First, the Adora Amazing Girl box blew me away. I felt like I was about to open a very high-end collectible. But, I was still expecting the quality of a Target or Walmart 18” doll. Then I opened the lid and pushed the paper aside and was blown away. This wasn’t the quality of a lower-end 18” doll, Sam was much more special. Once I got her out of the box (a very simple process), I was shocked. This doll, in my opinion, was the most AMAZING (see what I did there?) 18” doll I’ve ever owned. Why? 1) I prefer rooted hair over wigged hair, and this doll has a head full of gorgeous, silky, wavy hair. (Yes, it is put into two ponytails, which shows some scalp at the back, but once you free the hair, it’s thick, full, and no scalp can be seen). 2) The eyes. These are the prettiest eyes I’ve seen in an 18” doll. They are gorgeous and have soul to them. 3) The quality of clothing is just as nice as any American Girl doll’s clothing. And there is a lot of pieces...a tank, leggings, jacket, Fanny pack, high-top sneakers, a scrunchie, etc. 4) The head mobility. The fact that this doll can look up with her arms stretched out as if she’s looking to be picked up and hugged is absolutely the cutest thing in the world. Compared with the new American Girl, Blaire, this doll is so much nicer. I can’t believe this doll is only $60, and I lover her so much more than any $115 American Girl blows my mind. Because of my love for Sam, I’ve now also purchased Jada, Emma, and Ava (who I just received this morning). Each one just knocks my socks off. Zoe is next, and then I’ll get Harper. I hope this line continues to grow with more characters because I’ve found my new addiction and I don’t want it to end. If you purchase one of these dolls, you are truly in for a treat! I want to say that I’m not someone who reviews anything very often, I’ve never received a free doll to review, I’ve never received money for a review, so you can trust what I’m saying. These are my absolute honest feelings.

Not Recyclable Box
While the doll is beautiful and well designed in that aspect the doll is great. More vinyl then AG dolls, skinnier though so not all AG clothes will work for these dolls like skirts and pants, the waist bands will need to be altered. The doll in itself is great. But the box has a thin coating that in areas can be peeled off but to totally recycle the box from doll or even clothing is going to be a hassle. While some people may keep the box for the doll to be stored back in when the child has outgrown it and to save for a new child in time my granddaughter has a room here and we will not be saving boxes due to space. So I wanted to recycle the box and found the whole top was a major pain to get that film off. Why the company can't do a simple box that can be used to store or recycle is a question I have esp in a time when we need to reduce waste. So I ask the Adora company to rethink the boxes for both the dolls and the clothing.
