Works intermittently, if at all.
I have a total of 3, only one works as intended. Lionel has a serious quality control problem. If you charge a premium for your products they should work as described. Garbage.

Good Idea, but unreliable!
Not too happy. I bought two of these for my layout. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Sensitivity doesn't seem to affect it. Sometimes the gates move when the train is one the other side of the track and not moving! I'm keeping them because my layout is annual (Christmas Train for grand kids), maybe I'll have a break through next year, but I wouldn't recommend it at this point.
